ANATOMY OF A MESSAGE

Follow one SMS through your switch.

Follow the customer submission and the supplier connection separately. TextEnvoy distinguishes switch acceptance from supplier-reported delivery to help your team investigate message status.

  1. Customer to TextEnvoysubmit_smYour customer submits a message.
  2. Inside TextEnvoyAuthenticate · check prepaid credit · resolve the configured route
  3. TextEnvoy to customersubmit_sm_respAccepted with a message ID. Not yet delivered.
  4. TextEnvoy to suppliersubmit_smForwarded on the configured supplier connection.
  5. Supplier to TextEnvoysubmit_sm_respThe supplier accepts it and returns its own ID.
  6. Supplier to TextEnvoy, laterdeliver_smThe delivery receipt arrives asynchronously.
  7. Inside TextEnvoyMatch the receipt to the original message and record both states
A standard SMPP v3.4 exchange. Messages sent through the HTTP API pass the same acceptance checks. Delivery status is what your supplier reports.

THE OPERATOR WORKFLOW

From connection to delivery insight.

Four everyday SMS operations in the TextEnvoy staff portal, captured with synthetic test data.

PRODUCT SCREENSHOT Staff portal · Synthetic test data

Two sides. One place to manage them.

Keep customer access separate from the supplier connections your business owns.

Staff portal, two views stacked. Inbound Clients lists the customer Northstar Apps (system ID northstar_01), prepaid, balance $249.99, connected with 1 of 1 SMPP binds. Outbound Clients lists the supplier Gateway Alpha, connected (BOUND_TRX) over SMPP on the Gateway Alpha costs rate plan. Synthetic data.
Check both sides of the switch in one place: each customer's SMPP access and prepaid balance, and the live state of your outbound supplier binds.

Your customers submit messages programmatically. This does not imply an end-customer web portal.

PRODUCT SCREENSHOT Staff portal · Synthetic test data

Make the supplier assignment explicit.

Map customer traffic to a configured outbound supplier connection.

Edit Route panel for Route BD 01: static route, order 10, active, single target connector Gateway Alpha (SMPP), with two attached filters: customer Northstar Apps and destination Bangladesh (880). Synthetic data.
Make each supplier assignment explicit: Route BD 01 sends Northstar Apps' +880 traffic to the Gateway Alpha connection, so staff can see exactly where it goes.

This example uses one supplier connection; routes can also use failover or round-robin across several.

Check credit before forwarding traffic.

Bring destination rates and prepaid customer balances into the operational workflow.

Billing & Balance for Northstar Apps: prepaid balance $249.99 USD, credit limit $0.00, delivery-based billing policy, and an audit ledger showing a $250 synthetic top-up and a $0.01 deduction for one delivered SMS. Synthetic data.
Control customer credit: top-ups and per-message charges post to an audit ledger, and you choose whether each customer is charged on submission, on attempt or on delivery.

Operational billing visibility is separate from invoicing, tax and payment processing.

PRODUCT SCREENSHOT Staff portal · Synthetic test data

See acceptance and delivery separately.

Inspect a submission alongside the delivery status returned by your upstream supplier.

Message details for one synthetic message: submitted at 20:33:51 UTC by Northstar Apps, sent via Gateway Alpha, source NORTHSTAR, placeholder destination 8801000000000, status Delivered, 1 segment, billing charged.
Follow one message from submission to supplier receipt: when it was accepted, which supplier connection carried it, what the delivery receipt reported, and whether it was charged.

Switch acceptance is not proof of final delivery. Delivery status depends on the supplier receipt.

WHO TEXTENVOY IS BUILT FOR

Built for providers with customers to serve and suppliers to connect.

You bring the supplier relationships and run the SMS business. TextEnvoy brings customer connectivity, routing, rates and prepaid credit into one place for your operations team.

Our planned Cloudfonica service pairs a dedicated switch instance with expert technical support. It is designed for growing providers whose customers send through SMPP or HTTP.

Strong fit when your business has:

  • Active or ready upstream SMPP supplier relationships (and readiness to coordinate supplier IP whitelisting).
  • B2B, wholesale, or application customers submitting A2P messages programmatically over SMPP or HTTP.
  • Internal staff responsible for customer onboarding, supported route assignment, destination rates, prepaid credit, KYC, and regulatory compliance.

Not the right fit if you are looking for:

  • Upstream SMS termination routes, carrier agreements, sender ID registrations, or message credits from TextEnvoy.
  • A web self-service login portal for your end SMS customers.
  • Customer invoicing automation, least-cost routing, or cross-server high-availability guarantees.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Straight answers before we speak

Answers about suppliers, technical support, customer access and pre-launch availability.

Is TextEnvoy selling SMS software or SMS termination routes?

TextEnvoy is SMS switching software, with dedicated Cloudfonica deployment planned for launch. You connect your own SMPP suppliers and buy SMS termination from them. Routes, message credits and sender approvals are not supplied by TextEnvoy.

Do we need to buy or manage our own server?

No separate server is required under the planned Cloudfonica model. Our experts would handle installation, updates and monitoring under agreed service terms, with backups available as a paid add-on. The service is currently pre-launch.

Do our SMS customers get a web portal to log in and send campaigns?

The TextEnvoy portal is for your staff. Your customers send from their applications over SMPP or HTTP. Cloudfonica instance management is a separate, planned part of the service.

Can we create, resize, or destroy TextEnvoy instances on Cloudfonica today?

Not yet. TextEnvoy SMS Switch is currently open for pre-launch deployment inquiries only. Self-service Cloudfonica controls to create, upgrade, downgrade, and destroy dedicated TextEnvoy instances are planned for launch and remain subject to implementation verification and final commercial policies.

How are instance capacity and pricing determined?

Our planned model charges an hourly rate for a Cloudfonica plan that combines TextEnvoy software and cloud infrastructure. Each plan sets a monthly cap of SMS parts and a TPS limit, and a larger plan has a higher hourly rate. You can upgrade or downgrade any instance at any time. During pre-launch discovery, we evaluate your expected peak submission patterns, active binds, and multi-part message ratios—not just rough monthly totals—to recommend an appropriate deployment configuration and quote.

We already run another SMS switch—can we evaluate migrating to TextEnvoy?

Yes. Tell us about your current switch, customer protocols and supplier connections. We can discuss compatibility, data transfer needs and supplier IP approvals. Migration scope and any service interruption must be assessed for your setup.
